Swimpoints is a free tool for live swim meet scoring, lineup optimization, and meet analytics. It is built for high school and college swim coaches, athletes, and spectators.
Almost everything on Swimpoints — live scores, results, times and analytics — is public and needs no account. Most people never sign in, so this policy is split accordingly.
Visitors (not signed in)
Spectators, parents and athletes browsing the site or the iOS app. We do not know who you are, ask for an account, or collect your name, email or any other personal detail. The only thing collected is anonymous performance data, described under Performance Monitoring. Sections about accounts do not apply to you.
Coaches & admins (signed in)
Everything above, plus an account. The next section describes what that adds.
Nothing in this section applies to visitors. When a coach or admin signs in with Google, we receive:
We do not request access to your Google Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google services.
We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We do use a small number of named service providers to run the site — listed under “Where Your Data Is Stored” and “Performance Monitoring” below — and they process data only on our behalf.
Account data — signed-in coaches and admins only — is stored in Azure Cosmos DB (Microsoft Azure, US regions), with authentication handled by Clerk, a third-party authentication provider. Performance data, which is collected for visitors and signed-in users alike, is processed by Dynatrace. All three use encryption at rest and in transit.
The authentication cookie (__session) is set only when you sign in — visitors never receive it. Everyone gets localStorage entries for theme preference and the last meet viewed; those stay on your device and are never sent to us. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run marketing analytics. We do collect performance data, described next.
This is the one section that applies to everyone, signed in or not.
Swimpoints uses Dynatrace Real User Monitoring to measure how fast pages and screens load and to detect errors and crashes. This runs in both the website and the iOS app. It records technical information — page or screen name, load and response timings, error and crash details, device type, browser or OS version, and a coarse geographic region derived from your IP address — together with a randomly generated session identifier.
We use it only to find and fix slow or broken pages. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or tracking you across other websites, and it is never sold. Session Replay is not enabled — we do not record your screen, your typing, or the contents of forms.
Signed-in coaches and admins are recorded by the same anonymous session identifier as everyone else; we do not attach your name or email to performance data. You can opt out in your browser by enabling Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, which Swimpoints honors by not loading the monitoring script at all.
Visitors have no account and no personal data with us, so there is nothing to delete. Signed-in coaches and admins can request deletion of the account and associated data by contacting the site administrator. Upon deletion, your profile data is removed from our database. Meet data you contributed (scores, lineups) may be retained for historical records.
For privacy questions or data deletion requests, contact the site administrator through your school's athletic department or coaching staff.
